Bibulus— a Perl/XML replacement for BTEX
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper Bibulus will be introduced. Bibulus is a very flexible, multilingual system for formatting bibliographies in several formats, including LTEX. Bibliographies are stored in XML, but Bibulus includes a program to convert old BTEX databases. Bibulus is being developed as open-source software at http://savannah.nongnu.org/ projects/bibulus/. This paper will first summarise the current BTEX situation. Then, the main features of Bibulus will be introduced, followed by a guide to switching to Bibulus from BTEX.

Languages for bibliography styles
BibTEX is the most commonly used bibliography processor in conjunction with LATEX. To put bibliography styles into action, it uses a stack-based language written with postfixed notation. Recently, other approaches have been proposed: some use a script programming language for designing bibliography styles, e.g., Perl in Bibulus; some are based on converters to XML texts and use XSLT for bibliog...
متن کاملEfficiency of Web Based SAX XML Distributed Processing
Given the interest and need for Web processing and programming of distributed systems, researchers are exploring methods and techniques for facilitating programming of such systems. In this paper we explore the performance characteristics of XML processing using SAX for scripting languages PERL and PHP as compared to C (CGI) and Java (Servlets). We use SAX to process XML files via a Web based i...
متن کاملCreating High Performance Web Applications using Perl, Display Templates, XML, and Database Content
We will describe an online system that provides a framework for the creation of high performance, database driven dynamic web sites. Simple HTML templates that can be manipulated in WYSIWYG editors will be used for display of the content. Content will be stored in XML documents or within a database, allowing publishers to update the site easily. The software that glues the database and XML cont...
متن کاملTest::XML::Generator Generating XML for Unit Testing
To define a DTD or a Schema is not a trivial task. It can be compared to the task of preparing a data structure or, in some cases, to program that data structure adding some semantic. This makes this task error prone. It is common that a final Schema/DTD supports some special XML structures that should not be considered correct, or that, although these special structures are correct, they are n...
متن کاملA Simple Question Answering System
We describe our simple question answering system written in perl that uses the CMU Link parser (Sleator and Temperley 1991), Princeton University’s WordNet (Miller 1995), the REX system for XML parsing (Cameron 1998) and the Managing Gigabyte search engine (Witten, Moffat and Bell 1999). This work is based on an MSc project (Cooper 2000).
